CIDS: Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences
Catalyst for Innovation and Interdisciplinarity
TU Dresden has founded the Center for Interdiscipli-
nary Digital Services (CIDS) in order to holistically and
synergetically amalgamate Dresden’s research –
including research conducted in cooperation with
DRESDEN-concept partners – on digitalization for and
in all scientific fields. It will then be integrated into the
structure of TU Dresden as a Central Academic Unit.
More than 500 employees from different scientific
fields will work together under one roof in the new
Lehmann Center Office Building (LZB) on issues
related to digitalization, data, AI, knowledge extraction
and transfer, as well as numerous other software
topics.
The establishment of CIDS is an accompanying
strategic measure for numerous research activities

AWB ARCHITEKTEN for Information Services and High-Performance
Computing (ZIH) with its innovative, algorithmic
methodological knowledge and excellent high-perfor-
mance computing capacity and infrastructure into the
CONTACT energy-efficient and highly secure computing center
of the Lehmann Center, which was built in 2015.
Prof. Wolfgang E. Nagel The decision to found this center emerged from the
Director Center for Information following:
