A Great Place to Live
and Study
TU Dresden is one of Germany’s eleven Universities of
Excellence and a leading university of technology in
Europe. It is strong in research and first-rate with respect
to the range and the quality of the degree programs on
offer.
We are closely connected with culture, business and
society within the unique DRESDEN-concept research
alliance, striving to come up with the best possible
solutions to the big questions of our time. As a modern,
comprehensive, and multi-disciplinary university and
with 17 faculties, we offer a broad and diverse scientific
spectrum that few other universities in Germany are
able to match. We are also Saxony’s largest university
with more than 30,000 students - of which around 18%
are international students – who are enrolled in one
of the 119 degree programs including undergraduate,
postgraduate and doctoral studies. All of them study
and work on four different sites with the two main
campuses located right in the center of Dresden, the
capital of Saxony.
Dresden is well known for its vibrant cultural life, beauti-
ful architecture and its complex history. Living costs are
still affordable, making it one of the most liveable cities
in Germany.
