In the permanent exhibition, the Office for Academic Heritage (OAH) presents a cross-section
of the university’s scientific and technical collections, as well as documents and objects relating
to its history. Among the approximately 300 exhibits, there are special highlights such as the
Repsold universal instrument, which was used in the national surveying of Saxony, a Schubert
gear model dating back to the university’s founding , the first small-scale digital calculator, D4a,
designed by N. J. Lehmann, and documents from the estates of important university professors.
The permanent exhibition is open to the public by prior arrangement. The OAH staff offers
guided tours through the permanent exhibition and lectures on the architectural history of the
TU Dresden and its construction.
